What is the BHW Connect Toolkit?

The BHW Connect Toolkit was designed to provide comprehensive information and guidance to the Centers for Health Development (CHDs), the Ministry of Health in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (MOH-BARMM), and Local Government Units (LGUs) for effectively utilizing and navigating the BHW Connect System.

The specific objectives of the toolkit are to:

  1. Provide step-by-step guidance for encoding, updating, and maintaining accurate profiles of Barangay Health Workers (BHWs).
  2. Facilitate the generation of key documents, including:
    1. Detailed statistical reports to support strategic planning, policy development, and decision-making at various levels of government.
    2. Identification cards for registered and accredited BHWs, ensuring formal recognition and facilitating access to benefits.
    3. Certificates of Service, detailing the duration and nature of voluntary services provided by registered and accredited BHWs, as a basis for incentives and recognition.
  3. Outline the roles and responsibilities of each stakeholder, including the BLHSD, CHDs, MOH-BARMM, LGUs, and other relevant partners, to ensure the effective implementation and sustainability of the BHW Connect System. This includes clear instructions on system management, data validation, and timely reporting.

The BHW Connect Toolkit is for all key stakeholders involved in the management and support of Barangay Health Workers (BHWs). It is intended for Municipal/City Health Office encoders and BHW coordinators who are responsible for entering and updating BHW profiles, as well as Provincial Health Office (PHO) personnel who provide technical assistance and monitor system implementation. Additionally, the platform is for Centers for Health Development (CHD) and MOH-BARMM coordinators, who serve as regional administrators, ensuring data accuracy and overseeing the issuance of BHW Identification Cards. Ultimately, the platform ensures that all parties can effectively utilize BHW Connect to support accurate data management and planning for BHW services.
